Scoring and Umpiring

Been asked to score or umpire a game? Not always easy to do but it IS a great help when you have people around who are prepared to give either role a go.

As a scorer what you are essentially looking for is how to keep up with a game and write K2 (strikeout) or F8 (fly out to Centrefield) in the appropriate spots on the sheet.

As an umpire, you just want to get the calls right.

Cheltenham runs clinics for scorers every now and then – they are excellent and very informative.

Umpiring courses are run fairly regularly as well by the Umpires Association. If you are keen to learn more about umpiring in Victoria, go to the Baseball Vic umpiring page.
