A1 vs Boneo 11-11 Draw
A2 vs Boneo 12-0 Win
The Magoo’s train kept on a rollin’ despite another round featuring a whole swath of juniors being unavailable. I mean seriously, the last time a systemic issue caused this many kids to go missing the Australian Government felt the need to say sorry.
It is onwards and upwards in the 2s however as yet another new look team got the job done in emphatic fashion. A big 7 run bottom of the first setting the tone with everyone getting in on the fun.
Adam Leech the star on offence throughout the day with 2 separate 2RBI singles. Filler-inner-er Stu Holland also going 2-2.
My Favourite Pitcher(tm) threw a complete game shutout, which a lesser man might get excited about, but he did also give up three hits to the girl which might dent the ego were he not such a bastion of progressive social egalitarianism.

Under 12 vs Frankston/Dandenong 11-2 Win
Under 14 vs Boneo 14-1 Win
We were undermanned but still got the job done to defeat Boneo 14-1 to improve our record to 6-1. Zac Dunkley started on the mound and was followed by Kyle Yong for a combined 3-hitter to help secure the victory.
There wasn’t much offensive from either team as we only put up 7 hits and they had 3 hits but we have the luxury of 11 walks and 5 wild pitches and 4 errors!
Ryan Langworthy lead the hitting with 3 singles and performed very well behind the plate.
Kyle Yong – single, 2 runs scored, 6 strike outs
Ryan Langworthy – 3 singles, 3 runs scored, walk
Zac Dunkley – single, 2 runs scored
Jordan Chennell – single, 2 runs scored
Ed Steere – single, 1 run scored

Max Barrett Reports
This week the Chelt u16’s took aim at the Boneo Braves on what felt like the coldest morning that both myself and Koji had experienced. However nothing would deter the boys and girls from Saturday morning baseball as most showed up wearing nothing more than a jersey and maybe the odd hoodie. True to their grit, the u16’s erased an early 1-0 deficit to take the lead on the back of a great offensive showing from Sam Kesces and Kellan Hill who both had multiple hits.
As usual the u16’s were clean in the field making minimal errors which is no easy task when you’re playing in arctic weather. Additionally our pitching was handled by James ‘Jimmy’ Radford and Sean Dunne who made light work of the Braves on a tough morning to take the bump.
This win was important for Chelt as it keeps us in the hunt for finals. That being said Koji, myself and the team must thank Hanami Campitelli and Holly Howard who allowed us to field a team and also contribute in the field and in the batters box. We continue to put up a good fight each game by making the opposition work hard in the field and in the box, the work that is being put in on Thursday nights cannot be overlooked as each player shows vast improvements from week to week.
Bonbeach away next week which is sure to be just as icy. Hope to see you all there.
