Cheltenham Baseball Club is proud to introduce our import player for the 2018-19 summer season. Jesse Remington is a 25 year old left handed pitcher from Gifford, Illinois. He graduated with a Business Administration degree from William Woods University. He played five seasons of collegiate baseball for four different schools before turning professional. Along with attending William Woods, he also spent time at Benedictine University, Central Methodist University and Parkland College. His knowledge of the US college system will be valuable for all of our juniors who are aspiring to do the same.
Jesse entered the professional ranks in the Pecos League in 2017 starting out with the White Sands Pupfish. At the trade deadline, he was acquired by manager Bryan Kloppe and the Roswell Invaders. In Roswell’s 2017 playoff run, he did not allow a run out of the bullpen. He was promoted to the Frontier League of Professional Baseball with the Southern Illinois Miners for the completion of the 2017 season.
In 2018, Remington signed with the Bakersfield Train Robbers as the opening day starting pitcher and contributed greatly to the Pecos League Championship season in 2018. He posted a 4.64 earned run average in 73.2 innings pitched while striking out 69 hitters.
Jesse is a student of the game and a hard worker who will help the club to achieve success both on and off of the field this season.
