WOMEN GO DOWN 4-22 TO WHEELERS HILL
Denise Healy reports
Roundup-Coming off a huge win last week, I think we were pretty comfortable we could hold our own against some quality opposition. We got tested today and found that we have lots of room for improvement and to keep working hard on our basic skills. Wheelers Hill were a great team, almost a full team of experienced players. They hit well and once their 2nd pitcher came on, they moved quickly ahead. We had a few highlights, with a great catch at shortstop by Tara. A great double by Michelle and a lovely hit by Pia. Terrific work by our catchers Denise and Karen, who are always working hard. Good job on the mound by Barb and Delia. Delia also fielded well from the mound, taking a great fowl ball catch. Barb also got a caught and bowled from the mound. Ant Lleworrah looked like he was going to have his first dummy spit of the season, as we made some simple errors, but he kept his cool and his after game speech was very positive, while pointing out where we can make improvements. Onto next week gals, lets chalk up another win! We have a good team and will do well. Keep supporting and encouraging each other. A huge thanks to Peter Leslie for being our scorer each week and our support crew for coming along to watch, we love having some spectators. Thanks also to Josh Ashen for being our first base coach. Hope I haven’t missed any highlights, add them in the comments if I have. Final score was 22-4.
