With the four already settled, Rounds 26 & 27 in Division 2 Firsts had little consequence to ladder positions, and gave opportunity to Juniors playing in higher grades, gaining valuable experience.
In midweek play at Altona, the Rustlers won 7/6, with coach Kloppe making 8 changes to the original line up.Two timely hits to Dean Cooper scoring baserunners, was outstanding.
A Saturday fixture concluded in a 9/4 loss to Werribee at home.
After leading 3/1 to the sixth, the Giant hitters strung several hits together to run away with the match.
The rest of the Club, in finals mode, saw the two’s on the Main diamond draw away in the 8th innings with three,winning 5 runs to 2 against Newport, and now advance to the Grand Final against Werribee next Sunday.
The threes on Diamond 2 ,concluded their season with a 7/2 loss to Malvern.
Finishing in second spot, was a just reward for the season’s effort.
In the third match at home on the Lakeside diamond, the fourths in the mercy rule, had all the answers, drawing away to a 22 runs to 7 win against Newport.
Their season finale in the GF next Sunday will be Williamstown.
Venues are still on the agenda at Baseball Victoria.
The Womens team finals campaign came to a swift end after Donc/Melb.served out a 15/2 run win.
Experience was the winner on the day.
In a must win game to gain a place in the finals, the Masters overcame a 3/1 deficit, to power to a 5/3 win against Boneo.

History repeated itself, when Dante Caruso for the second week, knocked in the winning run,9/8, this time for the State 18’s, and set up a GF berth against Waverley.
