Being the first A GRADE home games and having all four teams at home was an opportunity to recognise long time Club member Michael ‘Mick’ Trevorah. Mick has been at the club for 50 years now in both summer and winter as a player, junior & senior coach, committee member and supporter.
Mick decided that it would be far more fitting for him as a life long catcher to receive the ceremonial pitch instead and so brought along his son Dylan (himself a long time rustler) to deliver it.
Joined on field by former team mate Colin Upfil and former Coach George Ingram, Mick said a few touching words in remembrance of his late father before framing a strike from his son to the delight of the Rustler faithful to start the A grade season home opener off in fitting fashion.
